Una de las principales maneras en que el OAD implementa su misión es a través de la Convocatoria de Propuestas, que se realiza anualmente desde 2012. Cada año, el OAD invita a presentar propuestas de proyectos que utilicen la astronomía como herramienta para abordar uno o más desafíos relacionados con el desarrollo sostenible.
